New release simLog at Finnair Flight Training Center

Type 2 Solutions has implemented a new release of simLog at the Finnair Flight Training Center. simLog (short for "simulator log") is a multi-simulator web-based system used to log simulator sessions. simLog connects data from the Jeppesen Crew Management System to data from Wallchart, a resource scheduling application.

Besides sending updates to Jeppesen CMS, which it has been doing since the first release, simLog now also provides Wallchart with updated information. The supplied information supports the automated invoicing process. The new release also supports cross-type simulators. It contains an improved possibility to connect simulators from both environments (Jeppesen CMS and Wallchart). This improves efficiency by preventing inconsistencies.

The Finnair Flight Training Center is part of Finnair, and is established in 1950. It has eight full flight simulators and offers training to pilots of Finnair, other airlines and business aviation operators. The Finnair Training Center supports its customers with the latest state-of-the-art training equipment and services.

Type 2 Solutions presents at the VNSG Conference 2010

"FMC BioPolymer chooses One2Label to optimize their supply chain", a contribution by Laura Fitzpatrick, IT Manager at FMC BioPolymer, has been selected for the presentations program of the Dutch SAP User Group (VNSG) conference 2010.

In her presentation, Ms. Fitzpatrick will describe how and why FMC BioPolymer uses One2Label in more than 10 manufacturing and distribution locations worldwide, how it optimizes their supply chain and helps FMC BioPolymer to keep their competitive edge by fulfilling their customers' requirements without difficulty.

The FMC BioPolymer installation of One2Label uses an online SAP R/3 (ECC6) connection to access the data necessary for labeling on-the-fly.

The VNSG conference is an annual event organized by the Dutch SAP User Group VNSG. VNSG is the platform for SAP and Business Objects users in the Netherlands. On a world scale, VNSG is one of the largest SAP user associations. The 2010 conference will be held on April 8th and 9th, in the MECC conference center in Maastricht. The conference is the ultimate knowledge platform for SAP users, and offers countless opportunities for networking, exchanging experiences, and keep up-to-date on the latest SAP advances.

One2Label in production at FMC BioPolymer

One2Label was successfully put into production at FMC BioPolymer earlier this week. One2Label gives FMC BioPolymer the ability to fulfill a growing number of specific customer labeling requirements in a increasingly competitive market.

The 10 manufacturing and distribution facilities operated by and for FMC BioPolymer use One2Label with online connectivity to the group's SAP R/3 system (ECC6).

Via this online connection, One2Label can access all labeling-related data. Customer requirements are applied to the labels on-the-fly. Labels can be printed as PDF documents and support the GS1 standard and barcodes.

One2Label also offers FMC BioPolymer the possibility to print directly to its industrial Zebra printers using ZPL, Zebra's native printer control language.

Well-attended event "Optimizing the Supply Chain with One2Label"

The Regus Rotterdam World Port Center was the remarkable venue for this event, during which a limited group of logistics practitioners attended a live demo of One2Label on Thursday, November 12th, 2009.

Topics such as legislation (Sarbanes-Oxley and local legislation), standardization (GS1/EAN/UCC 128) and globalization (emerging business in Asia) were discussed during the presentation, which included a demo of FMC BioPolymer's installation of One2Label, online on their SAP R/3 system.

Sarina Pielaat, representing The Dutch organization of GS1, further clarified the role and advantage of GS1 in the supply chain.

GS1's aim is to help businesses collaborate more efficiently within their supply chain in order to better serve the consumer and to reduce cost.

Being invited to evaluate the event, all attendees indicated that they were impressed by the accessibility, flexibility and scalability of One2Label. The perceived added value of the product was identified as being the flexible fulfillment of customer labeling requirements through easy-to-implement business rules as well as the time saving achieved through built-in GS1 support.
