A collaborative approach to healthcare! The central theme of this GS1 Conference is the collaborative approach to medication safety and traceability of medical equipment. The significance of implementing GS1 standards in your organization is illustrated by various case studies and hands-on examples provided by both solution providers and healthcare organizations.

In order to support GS1 Healthcare users in their implementation of the GS1 standards, Type 2 Solutions has developed the GS1 Online Barcode tool for the Healthcare Sector, in a joint effort with GS1 Nederland, the Dutch chapter of GS1.

This tool is a decision support instrument that provides hospitals and suppliers of medication and medical equipment with quick information about the advised data, bar-code symbologies or other data carriers that are recommended for a given product or packaging.

"In just a few clicks, the tool will indicate what information needs to be displayed using which bar-code symbology. As this is a practical aid to make the right choice in terms of bar-codes, it can also be applied to other industries. Therefore, we will extend the scope of the tool to all our users, in close cooperation with Type 2 Solutions.", says Hans Lunenborg.
